For business reasons

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 19, 2009, 1:12 AM

Pure insanity

I cobbled together a couple of nice quotes for you all about sanity.. or lack there of. I hope they serve to amuse.

"For business reasons, I must preserve the outward signs of sanity." - Mark Twain (1835-1910)

"When we remember that we are all mad, the mysteries disappear and life stands explained."
- Ibid

"Sometimes the mind, for reasons we don't necessarily understand, just decides to go to the store for a quart of milk." - Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider, Northern Exposure, Three Doctors, 1993

"It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society." - Krishnamurti

"A man who is 'of sound mind' is one who keeps the inner madman under lock and key." - Paul Valéry, Mauvaises pensées et autres, 1942

"I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity." - Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849)

"If you ever go temporarily insane, don't shoot somebody, like a lot of people do. Instead, try to get some weeding done, because you'd really be surprised." - Jack Handey

"Show me a sane man and I will cure him for you." - Carl Gustav Jung

"One is healthy when one can laugh at the earnestness and zeal with which one has been hypnotized by any single detail of one's life." - Friedrich Nietzsche

"I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it." - Unknown

well. i'm older, haha! so i suppose these days i'm just figuring out who i am... or something like that.

me too. unfortunately none of it's digital so it'll be a tad more difficult to get it up here. trying to figure that one out! and still trying to get my hands on any camera, really. i have none cameras.
That's a shame about the lack of cameras. I hope you find something :) I don't know what I'd do without my camera... probably go a little mad. :)

Figuring out who you are is a good thing to do I think. I've been doing much the same and it's been nothing but interesting. Just as long as you don't get too caught up with it and forget to do a little living too. Then there's the other perspective too I guess, that it might be the best way to live. Anyway! I hope you're finding yourself :)

i think i'll be able to manage once i get a job in the fall! unless i have to do work-study, that would be a bit unfortunate.

honestly i find the best way to find myself is just by, living! you can learn quite a bit about yourself... well, honestly about a good number of different things if you just pay attention.
thank you! and the same back.
